Types of forces

     There are two many types forces. They divided into five groups, all of them have the gravity in common. The five types of forces are the Gravity force, the Normal force, the Friction force, the Air resistance force and the Tension force. Firstly, the Gravity force is the force which all the objects act downward in the center of the earth. It's equal with the weight of the objects. Also, Normal force is the force which acts in an object which this object is in contact with a second object. For example, a book is stable on the table. The table acts in the book the same force which the book acts on the table. Moreover, the friction force is created when an object is moving on a surface. The friction force is giving by the formula: f=N*m, which N is the Normal force which is equal with the weight of the object and m is a constant. Also, the air resistance force is created when an object like an airplane is moving in the air. Finally, the tension force is the force between the object and a rope. The object it is connected with the rope and the tension is the rope is equal with the weight of the object. These five groups of forces are based on the gravity.

Classification paragraph

Force is an influence that affects objects, changing for example its structure, speed and  direction. In the SI system force is measured in Newtons and it is usually described by the formula F = ma, Force equals mass times acceleration. Forces split into two categories, fundamental and non-fundamental forces. Fundamental forces are the ones that are responsible for the atomic and subatomic interactions. Such force is electro-magnetism which occurs because of the different electric charges between protons and electrons, it is responsible for the shape of atomic matter but it also occurs out of the microscale. Another fundamental force is gravity, which is the force between any objects anywhere in the universe, it is relative to the mass and the distance between the objects. Non-fundamental forces are the forces that exist only on the macroscale and are caused by the fundamental forces that were mentioned earlier. An example of a non fundamental forces is friction which is caused when two surfaces meet, it is always opposed to the direction of the velocity and its potency depends on the roughness of the surface. These forces can all be calculated with modern day physics and it is used to help us understand how the universe works.  

Classification Paragraph



Write a classification paragraph of about 150 words on one of the following topics:

  • Engineering disciplines/careers
  • Engineering materials
  • Mechanisms
  • Forces
Remember to start your paragraph with a topic sentence that will state the topic of your paragraph and the basis of classification. In the body of your paragraph you should analyze the categories into which the group is being classified using details and examples. In the concluding sentence you should summarize what you have said, restating the content of the paragraph and supporting your initial statement.

Do not forget to use transitional expressions where they may be helpful.

Mechanisms - Escalator


ESCALATOR

An escalator is a moving staircase, a conveyor transport device for carrying people between floors of a building. The device consists of a motor-driven chain of individual, linked steps that move up or down on tracks, allowing the step treads to remain horizontal. Escalators are used around the world to move pedestrian traffic in places where elevators would be impractical. Principal areas of usage include department stores,airports,hotels and public buildings.






Gearbox


GEARBOX
The mechanism that I like and I find useful is the gearbox. The gearbox is a type of transmission used in motor vihicle applications. It uses a driver-operated clutch engaged and disengaged by a foot pedal for regulating torque transfer from the engine to the transmission. A gearbox can also change the speed, direction, or torque of mechanical energy.

Float or Sink Experiment - Salt Water Egg


Steps :  

1. Fill both bowls with warm tap water.

2. Add a few tablespoons of salt to one of the bowls of water and stir it really well, until the salt has dissolved in the water.

3. Carefully place a egg in each bowl.

4. One egg will float and the other will sink.



Both bowls are filled with warm tap water. A few tablespoons of salt are added to one of the bowls of water and is stired very well umtil the salt has dissolved in the water.An egg is careffully placed in each bowl. One egg will float and the other will sink.
