There are two main materials to make adhesives which are epoxy resin and urea formaldehyde. Epoxy resins are a class of reactive prepolymers and polymers which contain epoxide groups. Urea formaldehyde is a non-transparent thermosetting resin, made from urea and formaldehyde heated in the presence of a mild base. The first one has high strength when is reinforced. On the other hand, urea formaldehyde is stiff, hard, strong and brittle without any elaboration. Epoxy resin is a good chemical and also wear resistance material. In contrast, urea formaldehyde is heat-resistant and a good electrical insulator. These materials have a great variety of uses except adhesives. Epoxy has a wide range of applications including metal coatings and uses in electronics. More specifically it is used for the encapsulation of the electronic components. In the same way, urea formaldehyde is everywhere and used in many manufacturing processes due to its useful properties, such as electrical fittings. In addition, it is used in decorative laminates, textiles, paper and foundry sand molds. In my opinion these two materials are valuable in industry because they have a lot of advantages in making products.
